Still not sure if health++ is for you? Here are our answers to your FAQs.

Why a health hackathon?
health++ bridges the gap between engineering students
who want to code solutions to meaningful problems and health-focused individuals who understand how technology can be effectively applied to unmet needs. The environment of a hackathon accelerates interdisciplinary teamwork and pushes innovative ideas through the prototyping process.

What if I don't know anything about coding/health?
Fear not, health++ is a perfect place to start! We're working to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical in healthcare—so we welcome individuals of all skillsets. Our workshops and mentors will address any questions you might have. Whatever your interest or specialty, we’d love to see what you can create!

How much do I have to pay to participate?
Nothing, nada, zero, zilch. We'll provide all meals, WIFI, workspace, and swag over the weekend!

How do I find a team?
You're welcome to bring friends, but a big part of health++ is forming cross-disciplinary teams—and that means meeting new people! On the morning of the first day, we’ll be opening the event with a keynote, panel, and then a live problem pitching session. Team formation will be taking place directly afterwards.

What is this year's theme?
Past iterations of health++ focused on a central theme of healthcare affordability. Keeping that core hacking mission of affordability in mind, we're so excited this year to be narrowing our scope down to 3 event tracks:
Mental Health
Chronic Disease
Global Health

Will travel funds be available?
This year, our team is tentatively piloting our first year of travel support. This will most likely be sending buses to several CA schools. If you are unsure of whether or not you will be able to attend, go ahead and apply now! We'll send out updates about travel as we get them.
